Apple Walnut Kheer: The Yummy Fruity Kheer For You

Kheer is famous and traditional sweet recipe made in Indian houses & you could find many variants of kheer all over India. You could utilise your favourite fruit or even veggies to prepare kheer, and we are sure that all you will be asking more for the dish. One of the variants that you could cook is Apple Walnut Kheer, that is made by the low-fat milk, grated apples, sugar, walnuts and rolled oats. This wonderful dessert is ideal for the buffets, anniversaries, kitty parties, potlucks, etc. The addition of oatmeal or rolled oats is the USP of the recipe & is so healthy. If you are wary of sugar added in the recipe, you could utilise the sugar pallets in kheer to make it more nutritious.

Ingredients for Apple Walnut Kheer:

  • low-fat milk-3 cup
  • apple-1/2 cup
  • walnuts-4 tbsp
  • sugar-2 tbsp
  • rolled oats-3 tbsp

How to prepare Apple Walnut Kheer:

Step 1) To prepare this delicious kheer recipe, clean the apples in the running water. Then, peel the apple & grate in the vessel. Put the bowl beside. Put the walnuts on chopping board & properly chop them, put in a vessel & place it besides too until needed.

Step 2) Then, place a kadai on moderate flame & drop milk into it. Bring it for boiling & drop rolled oats alongside chopped walnuts, grated apple & sugar. Stir it to mix properly all the components & reduce the flame. Simmer it for around five to six mins.

Step 3) Allow the milk to simmer until a thick consistency is attained. Stir it occasionally so as to stop the milk sticking at the bottom. Once the milk is lowered to half, the recipe is prepared. Turn off the burner & put into serving vessels & serve it hot.

Tip:

You could decorate with apple slices & have this kheer chilled too.
